La Soucique Studio
About
La Soucique Studio is a Lexington, Kentucky metalsmithing and jewelry design studio founded by Kimberly Hanna-Wallis, a second-generation silversmith committed to zero-waste, 100% wind-powered production. Kimberly trained as a goldsmith and silversmith in Portland, Oregon and on the Channel Island of Guernsey — where her husband’s family is from — and brings a deeply coastal sensibility to her Kentucky-based work.
Her jewelry centers on seaglass, naturally tumbled pieces gathered from beaches around the world, set in handcrafted sterling silver, fine silver, and 24k gold bezels using traditional techniques including hand-forging, lost-wax casting, and Keum Boo. Every piece keeps the raw, organic shape of the found material intact. The studio’s name comes from a Guernsey French phrase meaning “a timeless sense of style.”
La Soucique Studio pieces are available at regional Kentucky art markets and at lasouciquestudio.com.
