David Kenton Kring Ceramics
About
David Kenton Kring Ceramics is a Lexington, Kentucky studio where David Kenton Kring creates figurative pottery and mixed media ceramic work that draws on nostalgia, blue-collar culture, and the visual language of mid-century American life. Raised in Frankfort, Kentucky in his family’s men’s workwear store, David’s early exposure to the storytelling and humor of working men became the foundation of both his work ethic and his aesthetic.
He holds a BA in ceramics and mixed media from Transylvania University and developed his technical mastery working at Kentucky Mudworks. His pottery is known for layered surfaces of terra sigillata, slip, and underglaze combined with image transfer techniques that echo vintage cookware, old magazine ads, and pop culture iconography from the 50s and 60s. David has exhibited nationally, lectured at major universities, and is the co-founder of Crafted Social, Lexington’s beloved craft market series.
David Kenton Kring’s work is available at Crafted Social markets, on Etsy, and at davidkentonkring.com.
